BACKGROUND

Uplifting Society is an IRS approved 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in its first year of operations. Uplifting Society is dedicated to ending cycles of poverty and crime in Fayetteville NC. A recent study Harvard University[1] ranks Fayetteville dead last in the state for areas to live. As indicted in the table below Cumberland[2] is among the worst counties in the U.S. in helping poor children up the income ladder. It ranks 18th out of 2,478 counties, better than almost no county in the nation.
